About Trophy House
1951: Trophy House was started in 1951 by Sam Nip while Hawaii was still a Territory. Yes, Trophy House is older than the State of Hawaii. For 75 years we have been serving the awards and recognition needs of Hawaii and beyond from the corner of King and Cedar Streets (near Ke`eaumoku Street and the Ala Moana Shopping Center).
1976: Trophy House was taken over by Mr. & Mrs. Burney who operated it until 1983 when they sold the business to Clarysse and Peter Crane.
1983: “Auntie Rysse” and “Uncle Pete” Crane took over and oversaw the transition to computerized engraving in the late 80s. They hired Loving Farias to run the front of the store and by put their niece Tammy Pa to work in the shop. Tammy was a graphic arts major at the University of Hawaii at the time and worked part time at Trophy House. Meanwhile, Loving was hired as a full time employee and has run the showroom for over 40 years
1986: Mark Carson went to Trophy House to order a trophy for a Hawaii Hang Gliding Association competition he was helping run over the Memorial Day weekend in 1986. He was helped by Tammy. Little did either of them know that 4 years later they would be a couple and the owners of this landmark business.
1987: Tammy graduated from the University of Hawaii and began working full time at Trophy House having mastered manual and computerized engraving as well as trophy assembly.
1990: Tammy and Mark Carson purchased Trophy House from Tammy’s aunt and uncle as Rysse and Pete retired to the Big Island of Hawaii.
1992: Trophy House acquired its first laser engraving machine. More laser engravers and diamond drag computerized engraving machines followed through the years.
2026: Trophy House moved from 1301 South King St. to the space next door (1303) in the same building. Tammy and Loving are calling our new showroom and shop “Trophy House 2.0”.
We are a kama`aina family business which is Native Hawaiian woman owned and operated.
